Tutorial Tape Measure Earrings and Giveaway Announcment

One of my most popular items in my shop is a tape measure bracelet. I recently made the lovely set pictured above for a giveaway I am sponsoring. If you would like to win this fun green set then head to
TLC Creations giveaway at A Creative Princess. It will be perfect to wear on Saint Patrick's Day. If you would like to know how to make your own then stick around. First you may want to check out my
tape measure bracelet tutorial here.

Tape Measure Earring Tutorial

2  two inch pieces of sewing tape measure
2 buttons
2 large jump loops
2 small jump loops
2 hook earring findings

Using your small metal jewelry hole punch, punch a hole into the top of your tape measure ends.  Note they are folded in half when you punch them, making a loop. Then attach your large jump loop and button. Attach a small loop to the large loop, then attach to your hook earring finding. Repeat process for second earring.

For extra durability you may want to use grommets for the holes in the tape measure. I don't think they are necessary since you won't be tugging at your earrings, but they may look nice. You could also use a ribbon clamp, like the ones used for the bracelet, and simply attach your earring finding to it instead.

Well that's what I have been making, what about you? Come share at our weekly Anything Goes linky. Don't forget to head to A Creative Princess to enter for a chance to win this set. Giveaway is open to all and will end on 3/10/13.
