Teri's Chocolate Covered Banana Bites

I am so excited to be visiting again here at BaconTime with the Hungry Hypo. I just love dropping by! Today I brought some cute and quick treats that are easy to make. They are wonderful as a snack or a dessert, and pretty much loved by everyone. These Chocolate Dipped Banana Bites are a mini takeoff of the bigger chocolate covered bananas, but so much easier to eat. They have to be made ahead of time, which is always a plus in my book! I hope you enjoy them.

Chocolate Covered Banana Bites

2-3 Bananas
Colorful Straws
10-12 ounces of Milk Chocolate Chips or Bars
3 ounces Heavy Duty Whipping Cream
Colorful Sprinkles
Wax Paper or Parchment Paper
Cut 2 pieces of parchment paper.
Make the first one 1" wide and the second one 2" wide.
Use the 2" wide piece as a measurement to cut 1-2" piece of the
straw for each banana. You may need more than 3 bananas
depending on the size of the bananas you use.
Use the 1" piece of parchment as a guide for cutting
your banana pieces. Cut as many as needed.
Insert a straw in to each banana and place the pieces
in a pan lined with wax paper of parchment.
Make sure the pan will fit in your freezer.
Place in freezer until frozen solid, approx. 30 minutes.
In the meantime, chop your chocolate if using a chocolate bar.
I love Trader Joes Milk Chocolate Pound Plus Bar. It is a Belgium
chocolate and it is to die for! Use your favorite chocolate
to make your Banana Bites incredible!
Melt your chocolate in a double boiler. Add your
whipping cream halfway through the melting process
and mix the cream in as all the chocolate melts.
Once your chocolate is melted, start dipping your
bananas in the chocolate. You have to be quick with
the dipping because too much heat will make the banana
soften and fall off the straw.
Let the chocolate cover the banana up and over the top of the banana.
Hold the banana over a dish or bowl and
sprinkle some sprinkles on it until you are
happy with the way they look.
Cover the bananas with plastic wrap and place them
back into the freezer until ready to serve.
Colorful, happy and yummy
