Have you ever bought a lotion that was too runny? Now I expect lotion to be thinner then body butter, but I hate when it's really watery.

This Fall Leaf Tree , will be perfect all Winter, shared by Made In A Day.
Fall Cookies shared by Craft Dictator. I just love the Turkey cookies, almost too cute to eat.
My husband teases me, and says "Santa drowns a baby reindeer every time a tree goes up before Thanksgiving is over". However, with such a short distance between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, I am going to let it slide, and feature a Candy Land Christmas Tree shared by Penny's Vintage Home.
While you are here, please check out my newest tutorial for Christmas Light Bulb Earrings.

Keepsake Hand Print Turkey Tile Art
My four year old son had so much fun making these Keepsake Hand Print Turkey Tiles with me. They were easy to do, and will make great Thanksgiving Day gifts for family members.
Materials:
1 Tile (large enough for your child's hand print)
Non Toxic Acrylic Paint (57 Cents a bottle @ Walmart)
(We Used Cranberry, Nutmeg Brown, Black, Blue Bonnet, Golden Sunset, and Harvest Orange paint)
Acrylic Sealer Spray
Ribbon
20 Gauge Gold Jewelry Wire
Glue E-6000
Gold Metallic Sharpie
Directions:
With paint brushes, paint your child's hand, using turkey colors. Your child maybe able to do this on his or her own, depending on their age. My son however enjoyed letting me tickle his hand with the paint brushes. Press hand covered in paint, down on tile, in shape of turkey, fingers together, thumb out. I then added an eye, and some feet, with a little more paint. Let paint dry, then use a metallic Sharpie to write on your tile whatever you desire. We wrote "Gobble Gobble", "Give Thanks", and child's initials and year. Then spray with your sealer. Once dry, glue wire to the backside of tile, for hanging. I used E-6000 glue. Decorate with your ribbon prior to gifting.

Pumpkins And Garland Made From Place Mats And Our Halloween Mantel
Our mantel is always a challenge to decorate. It sits behind our wood stove, that is used often, living in the chili Sierra Mountains. I know what your thinking, whats the mailbox for, well it holds kindling and paper for the wood stove. I found it at a local thrift store. Speaking of thrift stores, I decorated our mantel with some thrifty pumpkins and garland, made with inexpensive place mats.
There is still time to make these pumpkins and garland before Halloween, and they can be left up for Thanksgiving too. I found a set of 4 round orange place mats at Ross for less then a dollar each. I loved their country chic look, as they are made of stiffened twine. I decided to turn them into garland and pumpkins to hang around our home for Fall. Really any orange Dollar Store place mats will do. I purchased a dark burgundy place mat at the Dollar Store to cut up and use for stems. I also purchased plastic leaves from the Dollar Store to complete my pumpkin craft.
Materials:
Orange Place Mats (I used 2 for garland, and 2 for larger Pumpkins)
1 brown, yellow, burgundy, or green place mat (for stems)
plastic leaves 12 -17 (depending on how many you want on each pumpkin)
Yarn (I used green, yellow, orange, and ivory)
Hot Glue
Directions:
For a single large pumpkin, take one large orange place mat, and hot glue a stem to it. I used burgundy, but really any contrasting color scrap of place mat will do for a stem. I made decorative loops in yarn and hot glued them to the stem, to represent vines. You could also use coiled green floral wire. Then I hot glued some leaves over the yarn.
For garland, I used the same technique as I did for the larger pumpkins but I made them small, by cutting circles out of two place mats. Once I had 8 small pumpkins made, I decided to make the center pumpkin on the garland a little larger then the rest. After all of your pumpkins are made, hot glue pumpkins to your long strands of yarn, I used yellow, orange, ivory, and green. Measure to make sure your garland will be the right length for the desired location in your home, and space pumpkins evenly apart.
I hope you will make some place mat pumpkins and garland too!
My metal dress form that I usually use for craft shows, looks festive with a cape and pumpkin bucket head.
Hope your Halloween is spooktackular!
Well that's what I have been up to, please share what you have been making at our weekly Anything Goes linky party.

Trash To Treasure Pumpkin Family Tutorial
I had some orange polka dot fabric taking up space in my craft hutch for a few years now. It was leftover from another craft project, and I wasn't sure what to do with it. Then as I was taking out the recyclables, I spotted 3 rectangular boxes, and the pumpkin bug hit me. I am glad the leftover fabric, boxes, and tree branches never made it into the trash, otherwise I wouldn't have this cute little pumpkin family decorating my home. They are country shabby chic, and perfectly sweet for Fall home decor. The best part, they only took about an hour to make all three! I will be leaving mine up until after Thanksgiving.
Materials:
3 empty clean cardboard food boxes
3 tree branch trimmings
Pumpkin Colored Fabric
Green Floral Wire
3-6 Plastic Leaves
Hot Glue
Directions:
Using a knife, carefully slice a hole in the top center of your boxes, large enough for your tree branch trimmings to fit in. Put one branch inside of each box. Gather fabric up and around box. Use floral wire to secure fabric around box and branch, wrapping tightly around several times. Trim with scissors any excess fabric you don't want. Take another piece of floral wire, and wrap it around twig. Using a pen or pencil, roll it, on either side, making two curly cue pumpkin vines. Finish your pumpkins, by hot gluing a leaf or two on top.
The curly cue pumpkin vines are my favorite touch.
They look great on a side table in my families living room.
Well that's what I have been up to, what about you? Come share at our weekly Anything Goes linky party.
