Angry Bird Cupcakes Tackle It Tuesday Tutorial

These are by far the easiest cupcakes I have made for a birthday in a long time.  My son loved how they turned out too!  He just turned 9, and wanted to have cupcakes that looked like his favorite black Angry Bird from the Angry Birds app.

What we used to decorate:

Mini Orange Slices Candy (beak)
Mini Oreo Bite Size Cookies (eyes)
M&Ms Candy (eyes and top head feather)
Licorice  (eye brows)
Chocolate Frosting

These are super easy and fun for the kids to decorate on their own.  I think the most important part is to have the eye brows angled in a way that the birds look angry.

Of course you can let the kids use what ever colored candy they want for the eyes. A little bit of chocolate frosting helps hold the candy onto the Oreo cookie.  It would be fun to have different colored frosting too, maybe in red and blue, so they can make different colored angry birds.  You could probably make an angry bird round cake and use the normal size orange slices, Oreo cookies, and liquorice.  If you make some angry bird cupcakes I would love to see them.
